Restaurant with Live Music entertainment in Botriver.
THE SHUNTIN SHED
Where it all happens in Botriver
Open from Wednesdays to Sundays from 12h00 till late.
Located on the Botriver Station.
The Shuntin Shed is a quirky restaurant promoting live music on the Botriver station. Gustav and Christine are both seasoned musicians, and are bringing well-known artists in from all over the country. We offer the best live entertainment in the Overberg.
The building was built in 1909 and is still in its original state. It creates the ambiance of early day's train dining with authentic crockery and seating! The shed was used to load and unload freight trains between Cape Town and Caledon. The freight train is still coming through on week days at about 14H00 and returns back to Cape Town at around 16H00.
Some of the favourites on our Menu includes our legendary 500g Free Range ribs which are locally sourced and to die for. We also serve a wide variety of thin based pizzas. Our blackboard of specials changes daily and includes lekker boerekos, of which the Worspot on pap, and Bobotie with yellow rice and veg are some of the favourites. Our burger patties are homemade, then flame grilled and served with a variety of delicious sauces. Sundays we serve a traditional roast with all the trimmings. Live entertainment starts at 13H00.
Booking on a Sunday will avoid disappointment.
We are surrounded by lovely wine farms from which we compose our wine selection.

Wine tasting on horseback is very popular. You leave from the Shed on a scenic one hour vineyard trail to neighboring farms for wine tasting.
